Top 10 things I discovered I have way too much of while packing

10. Fake hair: While I do enjoy changing up my hair style the number of colors, textures and applications of fake hair I have discovered upon packing is a little out of control.

9. Small bottles of hand lotion: Why in the world do I have a million little containers of hand lotion tucked in ever nook, cranny, closet and drawer of my room and none of them are in my purse? That is until I am going through security at the airport and TSA needs an excuse to harass me.

8. Autographed photos of celebrities: There is no excuse for an 8x10 glossy of JC Chasez.

7. Playbills and theater programs: Now granted I do work in theater but there is no excuse for keeping every single program from every single show I’ve ever seen. Do I need to be on hoarders?

6. Free promotional t-shirts: why? why is it I always take anything that’s free. I don’t even wear lose fitting clothing. And I certainly don’t feel it my civic duty to promote Banco Popular to the world at large.

5. Old magazines: I just can’t give them up. Again, do I need to be on hoarders?

4. Fancy scarves: When I moved here I thought wearing a scarf around your neck was a requirement like flannel and Northface. I have since decided I don’t actually give a shit if it is or not. But I still have 75,000 spiffy looking neck accessories!

3. Check books: I doubt I have ever finished a check book because I generally have one or fewer paper checks to write a month. My mother told me not to toss checks in the trash, always shred them first. Good advice except I now have stacks of check books from the numerous free checking accounts I have had over the years, most of which (well all of which) are for accounts I no longer have from banks I no longer patronize.

2. Friendship string: Of camp how do haunt me even now. Most of the kids who begged me for string at camp are probably in college by now. If I am ever given a second chance no child will be denied.

1. Wrapping Paper: The number one item I am over stocked on is wrapping paper. I’ve figured it out. I never buy anyone gifts except for at Christmas, and that is why I have so much GD wrapping paper. Don’t get excited, the money tree I planted has not sprouted any bills yet so there will be no more gifts than usual. However if you need some Hanukkah paper you know who to ask.

In one year (August 2012) I will be leaving Seattle. Where I’m going has still not been decided. It could be California or the east coast or even overseas. All I know is I wont be staying here.Too many signs pointing to exit. Thanks rainy city. It’s been an experience.
